The Thrill Seekers

Group
Thrill Seekers 8.1% Often younger, well educated professionals. They like to be active, and adventurous. They live in a wide variety of housing, are light TV viewers who tend to read the broadsheets, and are heavy internet users.
Segment % of Pop'n General Description Key Regions Holidays Income Index
9. Independant Thrill Seekers 2.6% Younger 20-34, often educated professional households. They tend to live in smaller property, flats and small houses. With many in private rented accommodation.

They are keen on active pursuits and will seek out opportunities to do something a bit different and new. They like to do things in a group, with young friends and family.

This segment are more than happy to be independent and do their own thing rather than sticking with the crowd and doing the same old thing.
London, South East and Scotland Self catering preferred, this group takes active beach and winter holidays to let off steam. 106
22. Wealthy and Free Thrill Seekers 1.5% Many of these households are affluent and highly educated, containing managers, professionals, or own account workers.

As might be expected their housing reflects their status, with a high incidence of large detached property with a higher than normal proportion being privately rented.

Only a few have children at home and this gives them the freedom to be active and more adventurous in lifestyle and their leisure choices.
South West, South East and East England Take several holidays, often travelling with friends for active breaks. 128
23. Highly Active Thrill Seekers 2.7% This segment are found in quite mixed environments. Many of their number are well educated professionals and they are often found living in larger houses and private rented apartments.

However, what really marks this group out is their interest in active leisure, they like to be ‘doing things’ far more likely to be up a mountain than laying on the beach.

No ‘couch potatoes’ here.
South West, South East and London Enjoy energetic / active holidays going for half or full board. 107
29. Go Now Thrill Seekers 1.2% Young people just starting families and students living alone. A very high proportion living in flats and many with either publically or privately rented property. Many are ‘pre car’.

They are free to pursue whatever they want to do and many are into DIY active leisure. They tend not to plan far in advance, and they have the freedom to be spontaneous. They will spend the free cash they have to do the things they want.
London and South West Book last minute and online. Hunt out active beach holidays. 104
